Back injuries in the workplace

Back injuries in the workplace account for at least half of all work injury claims. According to the Victorian WorkCover Authority the cost of back injury claims alone for 1997/98 was 450 million dollars.

Most of those injuries were potentially preventable if only workers had a better understanding of their own role in back injury prevention and management, not only at work but also at home. By learning how their spine actually works they will then know, not only why they should practice injury prevention but also how to actually go about it in a meaningful way.
